about community connections
Care for community is central to any movement for sustainable agriculture. Community Connections (CC) engages with the UC Davis community to expand the reach and impact of the farm as a space for food systems dialogue. The CC effort also aims to increase the Student Farm's capacity to serve a diverse student population in an inclusive manner, and develop lasting relationships with campus organizations centering food and culture. Community Connections initiatives include curriculum development and facilitation for UCD academic class visits to the Student Farm, cultural competency training for the Student Farm community, participation in social justice oriented conferences, and outreach/support at a variety of campus events, such as orientations and cooking workshops.
Interested in getting involved with the Community Connections team?
We offer internships on an individualized and project-focused basis. Our past interns have worked on several different ways to engage with community members through social media, event, and workshop planning. If you have an interest in working with us in these fields or have an idea of your own, please visit our contact page OR fill out the volunteer / intern interest form on the UCD SF website.
